August 2025 Gardening Day – Record Eighteen Volunteers & Major Garden Progress
September 2025 saw a record-breaking 18 volunteers at the Japanese Garden of Peace in Hammersmith Park. Teams tackled major bamboo clearance, carex removal, pond restoration, and pathway maintenance. The day generated 16 ton bags of green waste while preserving this historic 115-year-old Japanese garden. Volunteers included a visitor from Philadelphia, showcasing international appreciation for London's oldest publicly-owned Japanese garden.
