Thirteen volunteers transformed Hammersmith Park’s Japanese Garden of Peace this April—cloud‑pruning bamboo at the secret hideout, sparing tadpoles by postponing pond work, tidying streams, and restoring the gate beds—filling a truck with green waste and proving what community spirit can achieve.

Thinned the bamboo hideout, trimmed low bamboo fences, tackled overgrown carex, and cleared streams for a refreshed spring look.

This month’s garden session restored key areas, improved the pond, trimmed overgrowth, and welcomed new volunteers.
